We Get the Foundation Right First

A floor is only as good as what's underneath it. We remove and dispose of your old flooring, check moisture and humidity levels, then re-screw and reinforce the existing subfloor for the kind of stability that keeps floors flat and quiet for decades.

Better Materials, Longer-Lasting Floors

In place of standard rosin paper, we lay a high-performance Vapor Shield moisture barrier, and we fasten every board with manufacturer-recommended cleats instead of ordinary staples — a tighter, more secure hold that resists the squeaks and movement cheaper installs are known for.

What Our Clients Are Saying

Gorsegner Brothers was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. From the estimate to the showroom to the amazing installation. Every aspect of the replacement of my floors was done to perfection. We met with Travis who is so extremely knowledgeable and guided us every step of the way. We had the entire first floor of our townhouse floors torn up and replaced. The floor crews were true craftsman. They arrived exactly on time everyday and worked with such skill and diligence, from Jerry who was tasked with the very difficult job of removing my old floor which he did with such skill and precision, to Bruno, Roger, Clever, Daniel and Brian who installed, sanded, stained, sealed and polyurethaned the new floor to perfection. I am so unbelievably thrilled and so impressed with the skill level of these men. My sincerest thanks to Gorsegner Brothers and their wonderful team!

We are very pleased with the Gorsegner Brothers. We purchased three rooms of Mirage wood floors and Gorsegner Brothers did an excellent job of removing our old wood floors and installing the new ones. The boards are tight to each other and level. The new floors have transformed the appearance of the house! We had a productive meeting in the showroom before starting, the price was fair, and the crew was professional. They got the job on the schedule quickly and kept us informed each day of progress and start time. We highly recommend Gorsegner Brothers.

We recently had prefinished hardwood installed in two bedrooms by Gorsegner Brothers. We could not be more satisfied with the finished product, They provided a timely and painless installation at a reasonable price. The crew was courteous, efficient and cleaned up impeccably at the conclusion of the installation. This was actually the second time we have used Gorsegner Brothers for hardwood floor installation since moving into our home 16 years ago. They are our go-to company for hardwood floors.

I would highly recommend Gorsegner Brothers for any wood floor installation, restoration or repair. They sanded my red oak to bare wood, stained, sealed and finished with 2 coats of Bona High Traffic HD 2-part floor finish. There is a special Hardner added to the Very Low VOC Semi Gloss finish. All very professionally done with no sanding marks and no damage to existing molding. The stain matched my existing floors so no awkward mismatch of color. All in all - would hire them again.

Hardwood Installation FAQ

Yes. We install both. The right choice depends on your subfloor type, which level of the home you're flooring, moisture conditions, and your preferences. We'll walk you through both options and make a recommendation during your free in-home estimate.
Some dust is inevitable during removal and cutting, but we use containment methods and clean up thoroughly at the end of each day.
In many cases, wood floors respond to the lower humidity by contracting or shrinking. If the wood contracts significantly, small gaps may appear between the boards. This is normal but can be prevented with proper precautions. One way to help your wood floors keep their original look and shape is to make sure your home has proper humidity controls in place. This means using a humidifier to maintain optimal moisture levels. Keeping levels above 40% in the winter will help prevent gaps from appearing.
Getting a perfect match is not a promise we will make. That said, our crews are the best of the best and will show you samples so you can make an informed decision before we apply any stain.
Yes. Try to avoid foam-backed rugs, which can retain moisture and dirt, thus causing damage to the flooring. Instead, look for waffle-pattern backed rugs. These are a much safer option. We also recommend you opt for natural, organic materials when possible.
Solid hardwood is a single piece of wood through and through. It can be sanded and refinished many times over its life, which is why it's such a common choice. Engineered hardwood has a real hardwood top layer bonded over several layers of plywood, which makes it more stable in areas where humidity or moisture is a bigger concern, like over concrete or below grade. Both are genuine hardwood floors. Which one is right for your home comes down to your subfloor and where in the house you're installing.
Both options are available, and we'll help you choose during your estimate. Prefinished flooring arrives with its stain and protective coats already applied at the factory, so it's ready to walk on almost as soon as it's installed. Site-finished flooring is sanded, stained and coated after installation, which gives a smoother, more seamless look across the whole floor and more flexibility on stain color, but takes longer and involves more dust and drying time.
We typically have new hardwood acclimate in your home for several days before installation begins. This gives the wood time to adjust to your home's actual temperature and humidity, which helps prevent gaps, cupping or warping after it's installed. Exact timing depends on the wood species and your home's conditions, and we'll build it into your project schedule from the start.
Most homeowners stay home throughout the installation. If we're also sanding and finishing on-site, you'll want to stay out of the work area itself while coats are applied and drying, but the rest of the house is livable. We'll walk you through what to expect for your specific project before work begins.
Yes, with the right approach. Engineered hardwood is generally the better fit over concrete slabs and with radiant heat systems, since it's built to handle temperature swings and moisture more reliably than solid wood. We'll check your subfloor and heating setup during your estimate and recommend the product and installation method that will hold up best.
The biggest factors are square footage, whether we're removing old flooring first, the condition of your subfloor, and whether you choose prefinished or site-finished wood. Most installations run a few days to about a week. We provide a free in-home estimate so you get an exact price and timeline for your project, not a ballpark.
